The Leadership Circle
Our Leadership Circle is a group of inspiring individuals from a variety of backgrounds, who are equally committed to collectively serving as key partners in Women for Women International’s mission. The Circle provides a forum for informed, active engagement in our life-changing work.
As an individual, you can make a real difference to our work supporting women survivors of war. There are lots of ways to support our work. You can sponsor a sister, make a one-off donation, raise money through an event or personal challenge or buy a product benefitting Women for Women International
The Leadership Circle is our senior level networking group, whose members commit to donating or raising a minimum of £5,000 per year or the equivalent of in-kind donations, opening up new networks and introducing Women for Women International to key decision makers. A sense of community and a unifying desire to make a positive impact internationally to women survivors of conflict are at the heart of its success and its combined power to change the world.
Diana Saghi Kawkabani, Leadership Circle Chair
Diana Saghi Kawkabani, a previous Trustee for Women for Women International (UK) and Inaugural Chair of the Geneva Leadership Circle, has been involved in Women for Women International for 10 years, helping to set up the UK office, and serving on Gala committees.
Diana has previously worked for International Planned Parenthood Federation in Beirut, Lebanon but during the civil war in Lebanon, she moved to San Francisco, California, where she worked organising Investment Conferences for Investment and Brokerage Companies. Diana moved to Bahrain in 1983, where she worked for Radio Bahrain as news editor and newsreader.
“I have always felt, in these last ten years of my involvement with Women for Women International, that not only do we help the women in our programmes gain skills, confidence and a 'Sisterhood' among themselves. We too, in helping them, become a Sisterhood as well. I have been privileged to meet so many wonderful women from all backgrounds, all of us forming a common bond of women uniting to help other women." Diana Saghi Kawkabani

"I was first drawn to Women for Women International by the important work that they do in helping women in dire situations all over the world. I have seen the positive outcomes and met some of the women working on-the-ground for the Women for Women programme and that has had an enormous impact on me. I am also continuously inspired by the Women for Women organisation itself - from its founder, leadership, and board to its supporters - this is a passionate, informed, and dedicated group of individuals with a clear mission and the ability to effect change on both a local and global level."
