The context of our work
Sexual Violence in Conflict
Violence against women and girls is the biggest block to the realisation of women's rights. It is a global challenge preventing women from living their lives with dignity and free from fear.
Women, Peace and Security
We work directly with marginalised women to build their capacity to participate in their communities as well as working with governments to support effective delivery of women’s rights protections.
Women's Rights and Development
Women overwhelmingly bear the brunt of poverty and are often denied economic opportunities. Prioritising women’s rights is key to delivering the Global Goals – the international development framework that promises to deliver for those left furthest behind.
Men's Engagement
If we want to help women to break through the stereotypes that limit their opportunities, we must work with men to challenge discrimination and help them become allies in the fight for gender equality.
Women's Access to Land in Eastern DRC
Despite women’s crucial role in agriculture, rural development and ensuring families are fed, they often face discrimination in accessing, owning and making decisions around land.
