Women for Women International UK Gala
THURSDAY, 3rd MAY 2012 - Guildhall, City of London
Women for Women International’s 2012 UK Gala will bring together the organisation’s supporters from the business and financial worlds, together with those from the art world and celebrity guests. The Gala will open with a cocktail reception, followed by a sit-down dinner, live and silent auctions, and a pledge to the work of Women for Women International in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Short speeches will be made by Women for Women founder Zainab Salbi and by Christine Karumba, Women for Women International’s Country Director in the DRC. The Gala will see the premiere of the Women for Women International 2012 organisational film.
MAKING A DIFFERENCE AWARD 2012
The Women for Women International ‘Making a Difference’ Award will be presented to; Lord Mitchell, Jenny Saville, Nadja Swarovski and Mercedes Zobel. The award recognises the incredible support given to Women for Women International by these four remarkable individuals.
THE AUCTION
Lord Harry Dalmeny, Vice Chairman of Sotheby’s UK, will conduct our Live Auction of exclusive money-can’t-buy experiences. Live Auction lots at our 2011 Gala included a trip to the Paris fashion shows with Mrs Burstein of Browns by Private Jet, a Bond experience including an Aston Martin for a week and the Daniel Craig suit from Quantum of Solace.
The Silent auction will comprise up to 20 lots including money-can’t-buy experiences and other very special prizes.
THE TABLES
