Women for Women International was founded in 1993 to help women survivors of war rebuild their lives, their families and communities. The UK office was established in 2006 and has grown a strong and effective supporter base. Our income in 2014 was £3.3 million.

Based in central London, Women for Women International UK is a small but highly dedicated team working together with Women for Women International Headquarters in Washington DC and offices in the eight countries where we work. Our mission is to serve the most marginalised women in countries affected by conflict to help them attain a sustainable level of human dignity.

Policy and Programme Grants Coordinator (Finance Focus) 

Deadline: Applications to be received and reviewed on a rolling basis 

Reflecting our success and ambition in the area of grant giving, we are expanding the team to recruit a new Policy and Programme Grants Coordinator, with a focus on strengthening and managing grantrelated financial processes (non-accounting). The Grants Coordinator will work across the grants team, supporting both on business development, and on the monitoring of existing grants. The post-holder will have a particular focus on developing budgets and on the financial management of existing grants, working closely with the Programmes and Finance teams in the UK and US as well as representatives in WfWI’s country offices to produce compelling new proposals and manage compliance and reporting for existing donors.

GAPS Assistant

Deadline: 30th March at 5pm

Gender Action for Peace and Security (GAPS) is the UK’s Women, Peace and Security civil society network. GAPS was founded to progress the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security and to hold the UK government to account on its international commitments to women affected by conflict worldwide.

The GAPS Assistant will support the coordination and development of the GAPS network. The role works closely with the GAPS Director, the Coordinator for the All Party Parliamentary Group on Women, Peace and Security (APPG WPS), and GAPS member agencies. They will provide administrative support to the Director as well as: support the development and launch of GAPS policy documents, update the GAPS website and social media platforms, and organise and take minutes at GAPS events. The GAPS Assistant will also help with regular, timely and effective outgoing communications with GAPS stakeholders, including GAPS members.

Policy Intern

Women for Women International is looking for an enthusiastic part-time volunteer with excellent research and admin skills to support our exciting policy work for at least 3 months. The intern will work closely with the Policy Officer and will gain valuable experience in policy and advocacy within the UK international development sector.
